The unique home-store ambience holds an assortment of items like, craft items Bidri and Bastar Home décor items, handcrafted kimono bags, leather/zardozi clutches, sandalwood, crafted silverware, and handlooms like Pashmina, textile with Kinkhab work and Pochampalli style Ikat work. There were also an array of lithographs and miniature paintings from rajasthan adding colour and grandeur to the entire collection.
Ms Sarita Hegde Roy, Chief Operating Officer, Taj Khazana said “Taj has been supporting Indian crafts since the last 6 years. Our first such sustainability initiative was with weavers of the famous Banarasi sari which we integrated to our uniforms across all the Taj hotels resorts and palaces. We have worked with reviving old motifs and patterns in weaving and also with designers who work with the artisans to make more novéau pieces. However we have also grown from there and spread out to the other parts of the country. Whether it is traditional handicrafts, or hand woven, Taj Khazana is an attempt at bringing together the vast cultural heritage of India in a setting that can give exposure to them. We are soon coming up with 3 films that showcases how painstaking and detailed the crafts in India are, maybe that will help in value addition for their hard work.”
